Terrible! Don't get involved with this farm or owner, please! We paid for a 4 horseback riding lesson introductory package according to the website via check up front. Not only was an uncertified teenager giving the riding "lesson", but the horse was poorly cared for having bad "rain rot" on its hind legs. After 2 lessons, the teenager contacted me indicating we hadn't paid the correct amount, and that I was not allowed to pay for a package. I was told I had to pay for individual lessons, having ridden 3 times there in 2015. Appalled, I cancelled my lessons, and requested the difference in money back from the "lessons" I hadn't had. If they could even be called lessons. Nothing was being learned. I was basically told when to turn circles and go over poles. When I contacted the farm manager, Jessica Roth Thomas, about my concerns and request she verbally berated me, and refused to return the difference and threatened to have her husband, a cop, arrest me. She advised she no longer had the check in her possession - a lie. My bank advised earlier that afternoon the check had not posted, and the check did not show posted until the next day. She has basically stolen $55 for services un-rendered, and has cited that I signed an agreement which states, no refunds. The agreement was seemingly altered to state this (after the fact). I never asked for a full refund. I asked for the return of money for services not rendered, in other words the remaining times that I did sit on the horse for the "lesson package". Threatening and lying to customers is bad business period, let alone all of the other offenses. Lastly, I've never once seen another adult other than a parent of lesson-goers on this property - only college age students, or teenage kids overseeing lessons, and farm care. I highly doubt they are trained in CPR, or emergency measures. Should anything happen, how could someone get the help they need? It's unsafe.
